I purchased it for myself back in 1990. I spent over $325.00 USD on this back then. Hinges may be gold plated (I honestly can't tell). Used it a few times, then stored it in a box in my closet.
Size/Dimensions: 17" long, by 13" tall by 3" thick.
Weight: 4-5 pounds (estimate).
Leather Quality/Style:
Patent. Drum-dyed leather. Burgundy color. Rich and wine colored in natural light.
Hardward: brass. Hinges appear to be gold plate (may be brass plated).
3-combo lock mechanism on each side. Works perfectly.
Top lid and bottom lid close perfectly, as they should.
Internal expandable file folders. Gold pegs hold leather straps that expand in two levels of thickness. Lower inside has envelop sleeves, right and left. Business cards.
Dedicated sleeve for business cards. 2x pen holder. Very organized and as neat as a pin.
Georgetown Leather Designs...is or was a very high-end. D.C. premium place to shop. I shopped there becaus the mucky-mucks on capital hill shopped there. Uniformity was the name of the game.
Fresh Leather smell. Natural. Factory-fresh. No stains what so ever. Preserved in a time capsule for its next owner. Is that you?
